An Update!

Mo and Lee treated me to dinner! I had such a good time when they were here!

Bystrys you were right in saying taller than the trees and higher than the mountains. This is also know as 130 feet. Cinderella's castle is 13 stories high or 130 feet. Aaron was also right in that Disney planned it to be this tall. If it were any taller it would need a light on top of it for planes to see it!
In addition Aaron was right it the fact that there are NO BRICKS in Cinderella's Castle. It is a steal frame and made to look like it is brick! Exciting I know!
The Zimmers come tomorrow! They are very excited. I don't think the two 2-year-olds fully understand but Katie the 5 year old is very excited! I can't wait to see them!
Mo sent me pictures of when she was here so I thought I would show you all a few. Mo is my boss in Normal at Katie's Kids and her and her husband Lee came down for a week!
The Magic Kingdom has been decorated for Halloween since August!

This is Mo and I on Splash Mountain! Lee wouldn't go! We got soaked!
On Wednesday this week we had Blast Off. It was a college program only party in tomorrow land. We got to ride space mountain with the lights on and had FREE food (good for any college student) It was a blast!

They always have Characters for us to meet at our parties! This was outside the Indy Speedway! I love their costumes!
This is on Space Mountain! The lights were on!
This picture is from when Carly came to see me! We had such a great day! She had a wonderful first trip to WDW!
Love you all,
Brooke

OK next Trivia...

In October of 1971 Walt Disney World opened. It had Magic Kingdom and what three resorts?

TRIVIA

My second set of visitors are currently packing. The Zimmers come on Saturday and Daniel comes the following Friday! I am very excited!

So, My life right now is not very interesting. I figured I would enlighten everyone with Disney Trivia.

Here is the first Trivia Question:

How many bricks are in Cinderella's Castle and How Tall is it?

Any guesses? (NO GOOGLE or search engines!)

My First Visitors!

My first visitors have officially come and gone!
As most of you may know I love being the vacation planner and showing people what I know so it was wonderful to have people here. (also to have them here it was nice!)

My first visitor was Mo (the director at Katie's Kids (my job in Normal))

She came down here with her husband Lee and we all had a great time! People kept making comments on how they were my parents and boy did they feel like it! They treated me very nicely while they were here! We went to Magic Kingdom on Saturday and I got to take them on a few of my favorites while they took me on some of theirs! It was a blast to be going down Splash Mountain with my boss. Not many people have that kind of relationship! We did get soaked and although the picture would have been great to have it just didn't show how beautiful we are so we opted not to get it! They went to dinner at a lot of places when they were here and they sometimes took me along!! We went to this place at the Wildreness Lodge it was really good meat and potatoe dinner plus the added comedy of an Ed's (in chicago). The waiters were rude and loud but it was hillarious! I highly reccommend this place for a good time! (Mo took lots of pictures so I will post those later!)
I went with Mo to Hollywood Studios that day we rode the Toy StoryRide. It is brand new and the wait is forever long (get there early to get a fast pass). At like 2 the fast passes were gone for the day. Totally worth the wait though!

Yesterday Heidi, Mo, and I went to Downtown Disney and Lee stayed home! Then Mo took us to lunch and we went home! It was great to have them here!

My other guest this weekend was Carly. She is Michael's (youth pastor at Calvary) girlfriend and get this... She had NEVER been to Disney! I took the day off on Sunday to show her around the Magic Kingdom. (she was passing through town and knew she had to stop!)
We got to the park at 2 and the park closed at 8. No worries though we hit up all the best rides and even had time for the parade and for a meal! It was a blast. I hope it wasn't too rushed for her (I was at "Disney Walking Speed") - yes this is an official walking speed!

The best work story for this week happened on tuesday. At Walt Disney World missing children is a common problem. (but please do not put your 12 year old on a leash... its just wrong)

Heidi was telling me about this parent at Animal Kingdom who lost her child and was running around yelling her name going completely crazy.... we dont like these people for a lot of reasons but safety is the first. (lecture time: if you lose your child, please tell a cast member and DO NOT yell their name. This give another person the oportunity to see a child who they think is lost, use the childs name, and take your child... ok lecture over!)
Anyways, the child was eventually found. The same day, I had the complete opposite story.

Right before the parade I had a dad approach me and say the following:

"Hi Brooke, My name is (lets call him Chris). My family was just up the street taking a beautiful picture in front of the castle when we sent the kids out of the picture to get one of just me and the mom. Well, we have 4 kids and we got 3 of them back but we are a little upset about the missing 4th child... His name is (lets call him bob), hes 7 years old, brown hair and eyes, wearing a blue shirt with a red hat. Our meeting spot is over there"

Needless to say I was laughing but prepared. (Lesson: stay calm!)
This guy was great. We looked for a few minutes and Bob was found in no time.

He then returned to me to tell me he had found him. (another pointer: I will look for missing kids for an hour and they have been found for 45 minutes!)

Needless to say, this guy made my day!

Well I hope everyone is doing great! The Zimmer's (my kiddies from class) come next weekend and then Dan the weekend after! I am very excited! Miss you all

Love,
Brooke

Faith, Trust, and a little bit of Pixie Dust!

Here is some Pixie Dust!
Tinkerbell!
It was beautiful!
The Castle

We went to go see the fireworks tonight at Magic Kingdom! I just wanted everyone to have a little pixie dust for the night!

PS - Mama and Papa I am glad the post worked for you!

- Dad: the bat is a head band! I know you want one! The men get bow-ties that match! You could wear the bat while Shanna wears my beautiful blue outfit!

Love everyone!

Happy Halloween!

Last night was Magic Kingdom's first Halloween Party of the year!

It was a lot of fun! It was a tad boring working turnstiles because it was not busy but overall I heard wonderful things about the party! We did get to go watch the fireworks! They were very good! The parade was amazing again as well! It was a little difficult workign until after midnight though!

Well here is my costume! Happy Halloween!

Just picture this with nylons (yes nylons) and man shoes!

Our Days Off

Yesterday and Today Heidi and I had the days off! Nothing exciting really happened I just wanted to show some pictures!!

Yesterday we went to Hollywood Studios which is the former MGM! We did the backlot tour, watched the High School Musical performance, rode the Great Movie Ride, and Tower of Terror! Rockin roller coaster was not workign but we are going to go back to ride that later!

Then last night we went to Magic Kingdom at midnight for the Cast Only Premiere of Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Parade! It was completely amazing and I am excited that my Mom, Shanna, Betsy, Joni, Tyler, Scott, Eric, and Bob and Shar (Dad has to leave to go back to work before it) will get to see it when they all come in October! It was such a great time! Today we just played lazy and sat around watching friends!

We have a big work week coming up and I am sure I will have lots of stories to tell! Tomorrow marks our first Halloween Party so get ready for another great costume from me!

Miss you all,

B

I've earned my ears.... AGAIN!

Hello everyone,
Well the past two days have been different than the rest. I was given back my red tag as I earned my ears as a Parade Audience Control person. For this role I set up ropes and poles along the parade route. During the parade I help block cross walks and direct traffic, along with making sure no one runs out into the road.
So far no major disasters have occured in this role but I have heard a lot of wonderful stories. The worst that has been done to me was a lady that was in an electric wheel chair stood up during the parade, pushed me outta her way, and told me I was in the way of her picture. That was a wonderful way to start my training. Then, last night I was directing traffic and a women yelled at me when I asked her to keep moving. We apparently get yelled at a lot by guests so hopefully it won't make me too angry.
On the flip side, this job does give you the most guest interaction of all the roles. After we set up for the parade we get to do PACtivities (Parade Audience Control -PAC and activities (get it... yeah its lame I know!)) This includes talking with the guests, hoola-hoops, stickers, pins, jump ropes and so on! It is a great time to talk to random people, make jokes, give directions and advice and so on! I do really love that part!

As a conclusion to our training we received a special treat! My trainer took us to the roof top of the Ice Cream Parlor to watch the fireworks. This is the very last building before the castle and the view was AMAZING! It is something I will always remember. Its to bad that cameras are not permitted backstage otherwise I would have some amazing pictures!
I will be rotating between these two jobs for the rest of the semester.
September 5th marks our first Halloween Party of the year as well. This means lots of late nights and even better looking costumes! Aparently they are pretty bad so I will post a picture after the first party. I have heard however, that the parade and fireworks are the best at these parties so I am excited for that!

I hope all is well with everyone! Heidi and I both have off Wednesday and Thursday this week so I will write again after we haveome good adventures! Miss everyone!

My wonderful costume! I will tell you it is hot and itchy and does not dry in the rain!! But we are happy people... all the time!
